Good Reasons to Homeschool

If you have been “school fooled” than you’ll have to be homeschooled. Not sure what that means? Good, neither do I.

I want to tell you the advantages of being homeschooled. The best years of education in my life were the ones I spent in bed. I was home schooled in the middle of the tenth grade, but I didn’t have a teacher. I was my own teacher. What a mess. I fell asleep giving myself my own class! My mother pulled me out due to all the bullying and harassment. I hated school with a passion. let me take that back. I liked school, just hated the people in it!

Any who, the first good thing about being homeschooled was that I didn’t have to wake up at 7 am everyday. I could sleep in and start my class any time. I am not a morning person. I’m not married, but if I were, my wife better have her own room, because if she dares to wake me up at 7am, let’s just say, she would be safer in a den full of lions.

Another fun thing is break time. At school we get hungry but we can’t eat and because we can not eat, that hunger starts to become a distraction and we lose our focus in class. At home, you take a break to eat or eat while you work. It’s great. If you’re an eater like me and have Attention Deficit Disorder, you need to eat every thirty minutes just to keep yourself awake!

Also, no seven hours of class. With homeschooling all you need is about three solid hours a day. That gives you extra time to play…by yourself. All your friends are at school, but knowing you have all that extra time is a special feeling.

For me, someone who’s been bullied and lacked friends and a Christian I never really fit in with anyone. The best reason for homeschooling is: no pressure to fit in. No pressure to try drugs, sex etc. Your head is no longer a spitball target.

If thought out correctly and with a companion around the same age, whether it be a brother, sister or neighbor, homeschooling can be a fun experience. If you do get a teacher sent to your home, well then, good luck with that, but that doesn’t mean you have to always open the door!
