Guide to London School of Science and Technology

London School of Science and Technology (LSST) is a Higher Education college based in North West London. The College offers a wide range of full and part-time undergraduate programmes in business, computing and IT and strategic management. In addition, LSST offers a diploma in English for speakers of other languages, to equip them with the language skills required in order to cope with academic study in the UK. The college is home to students from a diverse range of backgrounds and age ranges, from school leavers to those taking up education again after a break.

Approach

LSSTs approach to learning and teaching differs somewhat to that of long-established universities. Although all courses are underpinned by guiding academic principles, the College is also concerned with the practical aspects of working in business in the 21st century, and the opportunities and challenges that brings, and seeks to equip students with the necessary skills, attributes and knowledge for their future career in the commercial world. Students are expected to seek out answers other than than those that can be found in text books alone. LSST also encourages students to be free thinkers, and fosters a strong entrepreneurial spirit amongst its student body, something that would be frowned upon at many traditional Higher Education institutions; this approach is particularly suited to mature students.

Training for Business

LSST’s strategic aim is to offer a curriculum that provides a solid foundation in learning. In order to ensure that that the highest standards are maintained at all times, the College works in conjunction with EDEXCEL, the UK’s largest academic and vocational awarding body and one of the five main examination boards in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Student Support

LSST students can take advantage of a dedicated student support team on campus, if they need help with any aspect of student life. The team provides advice and guidance on both academic and pastoral matters and can help with a wide range of issues including course enquiries, matriculation, accommodation, changing programme and authorised absence from study. They can also assist with career guidance, disability support, chaplaincy, computing and financial issues.

The London School of Science and Technology is located on the outskirts of the London suburb of Wembley, home to Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena. The College is close to Alperton tube station, and the green spaces of One Tree Hill recreation ground and Sudbury Golf Course are only a few minutes away.  The College can be found at Alperton House, Bridgewater Road, Wembley, Middlesex, HA0 1EH.
