Heriot Watt University is a research and learning facility which has four campuses based in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders, Orkney and Dubai. Located in the busy textile town of Galashiels, which is approximately forty five miles from Edinburgh. The self-contained campus provides student accommodation, teaching and learning facilities, library, child care, student’s union and catering outlets.
There is a regular bus service which runs between Edinburgh and the Borders campuses.
The university campus is located in the Dubai International Academic City.
Located in the pretty harbour town of Stromness, the campus is part of the Heriot Watts Institute of Petroleum Engineering and is home to the International Centre for Island Technology.
The university offers a wide range of support for all students including children’s nursery, counselling, healthcare, international students, spiritual well-being, learning and disability.
The university guarantees accommodation for all first year students. Located in the Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders campuses, the university offers self-catering accommodation for over a thousand students. The accommodation is varied and can be single rooms in halls of residence or shared flats. Accommodation for students with disabilities is available.

The students’ union is an independent resource for all students. The students’ union provides a number of facilities including bars, eating places, support, sports and social clubs.
