The well established and popular University of Chester is located in the historic city of Chester, West Cheshire, North West England.  The teaching and research facility offers undergraduate and graduate courses for over sixteen thousand students. The university has seven faculties, Applied Sciences, Arts and Media, Business, Enterprise and Lifelong Learning, Education and Children’s Services, Health and Social Care, Humanities and Social Science.

Campuses

The university has four campuses, three based in Chester and one in nearby Warrington.

The main campus is located in thirty two acres of land which is within walking distance of Chester city centre. The campus offers a wide variety of learning and social facilities including modern lecture theatres, catering outlets, launderette, extensive sports facilities, cash point, student’s union, bar, chapel and faith space.

Kingsway Building

Kingsway Building is in the centre of Chester, near to the main campus and is home to the faculty for Arts and Media. The campus facilities include a two hundred seat lecture theatre, rehearsal studios, printmaking workshops, textile workshops, art gallery, journalism room, music equipment, catering outlets and children’s nursery.

Riverside

Riverside campus is in Chester city centre and houses the library for Educational and Children’ Services and Health and Social Care students. The campus provides IT laboratories, teaching space, lecture theatres, cafe, coffee shop and restaurant.  

Warrington Campus

Warrington Campus is a self-contained campus at Padgate, Warrington which is approximately twenty two miles from Chester. The campus is home to the Public Sector and Creative Industries and offers students learning, recreational and social facilities including catering outlets, chapel and faith space, students union, bar and children’s nursery.

.Accommodation

The University owned accommodation is primarily for first year and overseas students. The accommodation is mostly located on the Chester and Warrington campuses.  Student wishing to use university accommodation have a choice of full board, catered or semi catered rooms.

Full board

Full board rooms are located in Victorian houses and purpose built units on the main Chester and Warrington campuses. Students are provided with single rooms containing washbasins, ensuite or shared bathroom facilities.  The accommodation also contain common areas with facilities for making hot drinks, sink for washing dishes, iron and ironing board.

Self catered.

Self catered residences are mainly on or very close to the main campuses. The accommodation usually houses six students who share a kitchen, bathroom and dining area. Most bedrooms are single and have their own washbasin.

Semi Catered

Semi catered accommodation is located on the main campuses or with within walking distance, The accommodation houses between ten to forty students and provides kitchen, communal areas and single bedrooms, some of which have en suite facilities.

Student supports

The university offers students a wide range of support including day nursery’s, advice regarding medical care, finances, disabilities, and student welfare,
