Salford is located in Greater Manchester in the heart of England. Manchester is a popular multicultural city providing a wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars, sporting amenities, arts and social facilities. The city is serviced by bus and tram system and there are rail links to most parts of the country. Located not far from the city is Manchester international airport.

Salford University

This teaching and research university has three colleges, Art and Social Sciences, Health and Social Care and Science and Technology. Each college is divided into twelve schools offering graduate and post graduate courses, ranging from accessibility and design to zoology.

University Campuses

The university has three campuses, Peel Park is the main campus with Fredrick Rd and Media City located nearby.

Peel Park Campus

Located in Salford in sixty acres of parkland and sitting on the banks of the River Irwell, the campus is approximately 2.4km from the centre of Manchester. The campus has everything to meet the student’s needs providing a library, museum, art gallery, teaching halls, purpose built practice clinic, trial room, , laboratory, study areas, IT facilities, theatres, leisure centre, student’s accommodation, bank, shops, nightclub, cafés, bars and restaurants.

The Adelphi Campus

The campus provides resources for students studying media, music, performance, and art and design.

Media City Located in Salford Quays near to Peel Park, Media City is a new development and home to national TV studios available to all students. Accommodation The university has accommodation for three thousand students including flats for couples and families.

Eddie Colman and John Lester Courts are blocks of flats, providing each student with a bedroom and shared kitchen and bathrooms

The buildings contain communal rooms and laundry.

Located on the main campus, Horlock and Constantine Courts are houses which provide rooms and shared facilities. Constantine Court rooms are en suite

Castle Irwell Student Village is the largest of the university’s accommodation and is a combination of houses and flats; it also houses the student’s union bar. The village is within walking distance of the main campus.

Seaford Road provides newly built houses which provide en suite rooms, kitchen, bathroom, laundry and reception lounge.

The university provides accommodation adapted for wheelchair use and all rooms are fitted with a Deaf Alert system.
