Warwick University is not located in Warwick but on the edge of the city of Coventry in an area known as West Midlands, in the centre of England. The research led university houses over twenty thousand students and offers four faculties Humanities, Sciences, Social Science and Medicine. Courses range from Accounting and Finance through to Theatre and Performance. Students have the option of focussing on one subject or studying a combination for example maths and physics. The university also provides the student with the opportunity of working or studying abroad and some of the courses are partly studied in the UK and for example Venice. On some courses, for example the sciences, the student are required to spend their final year in work experience being monitored and visited by tutors.
The university has three campuses in Coventry which are interlinked and within walking distance of each other. The larger and main campus contains halls of residence and everything to meet the student’s needs, including a large and modern library, supermarket, three banks, hair salon, post office, travel agent, chemist and large indoor and outdoor spots facilities. The on site multi venue arts complex provides social amenities such as concert hall, art gallery theatres, rehearsal rooms, cinema, restaurant, café and two bars.
The newly renovated Students Union is located on the campus and has a restaurant, tea shop, several bars, live music venue, extensive sports clubs and societies. In addition the students union is available to offer support and advice in all areas of university life.
Westwood and Gibbet Hall
Both these sites are within walking distance of the main campus. They provide teaching and study facilities, student accommodation and at Westwood a running track and tennis centre.

The university has facilities to house over six thousand first year students. The majority of the halls of residence are found on the main campus but there are university houses in nearby Leamington Spa and Kenilworth. All the campus accommodation is self catering and mainly provides a bedroom, shared bathroom, kitchen and living area. The university ensures that there are resident tutors and a warden on all sites.
Although the university campus more or less provides everything to meet the student’s needs the city of Coventry also has a lot to offer in terms of shopping, restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs.
