First things first. I am not a Bible pusher, church going holy roller, or anyone of the sorts. I do not even attend a church. I did grow up under a Jewish kind of religion. Now with that out of the way I can go on.
I personally do not see anything wrong with doing Bible courses in schools. I has been a proven fact that they are showing the Bible to actually be a history book. I fact, just last year in my son’s school, regular public school, under world history, he learned about Moses. When they showed on the television the story on Moses, he got a kick out of knowing it, that and the cheesy graphics. We both laughed at that.
It is being proven over and over the historical importance of the Bible. Things are matching up with science that can be proven that did happen. I just proved it. They are showing it and teaching it.
There are many finding over in Israel, Jordan, and such that are pointing to what is written. So at some point in time we are just going to have to accept the fact the the Bible is more than just a religious book. It is a part of world history. People did think in the ways it is written.
I believe not teaching it is wrong. It would be like taking all forms of history away. We would not be where we are today without it. The wars going on now and in the past are in part due to religious aspects(not to mention greed). Not teaching it would be ignorance. I am not saying to try to interpret the teaching or to go into the holy roller aspect, but to teach the people about the past in general. We learned about the Greek Gods, what is one more teaching?
