That dreaded test is coming up and your nerves are on the high end for it. You say to yourself “No worries. It is just a test.” But that is easier said than done. However, there are many ways to de-stress before that test so you can get that shining “A”. Here are some of them:
1.Make studying more fun.
It is a no-brainer that studying might get pretty boring and you would rather be watching television or hanging out with friends. But it doesn’t have to be that way. You can get one of your friends to study with you and be your study-buddy. That way, you can hang out with your friends in a lighthearted manner and it will keep your brain from thinking “Oh my goodness, the test is coming up!”
2.Make flashcards and/or a study guide
If your teacher or professor hasn’t given you a study guide already, then make a flashcards set and a study guide is good idea. It enables your brain to remember the information by knowing what definition or answer is right, and which one isn’t without getting confused. They are easy to carry around too and relatively, so you don’t have to stress about having enough space in your backpack.
3. Think you will do well on the test
Even if you think you might not do the best on the test, visualize you receiving your test paper back with the grade of an “A” gleaming off the paper. That will probably motivate you to review your information more and increasing your grade on the test.
4. Get enough sleep!
Sleep could be the best thing that ever happened to you or it could your worst nightmare in terms of your nerves relaxing and your outcome of the test. Sleep is the time when your nerves can relax from all your stresses of the day so it is crucially important that you get enough of it.If you are a teen, then you most likely need from 8-10 hours of sleep.
5. Don’t do anything that is very stressful or strenuous on your nerves or body before taking the test.
Even if you really want to start an argument on why your sister took the car without your permission, drop it. It is not worth all the debate and stress on your nerves, so just leave sitting things alone.
Lastly, just take deep breaths. Go to your “happy place” as some people say. Your life will not be ruined if you don’t do as well as you thought and repeat this to yourself. Just relax and your intelligence with flow from your brain to the pen that is bubbling in the correct answer.
