What a Special Ed Teacher needs to know

They should be able to provide information about inclusion. This ensures that the kids do not face seclusion from others.

They should be excellent negotiators and collaboration a disposition that is difficult for teacher educators to teach.

The growth of technology has lead to wider availability of devices that enhance communication, mobility, and learning. Remaining present with this speedily changing aspect of education requires effort.

Successful special educators develop behavioral support systems that generalize across environments and provide information to the entire team about implementing the support plan.

Successful special educators use peers paraprofessionals wisely and ensure that strategies do not interfere with friend development and the social relationships between students with and without disabilities.
